1. How To Download Photos From iCloud To iPhone

iCloud Photos allows you to automatically upload all of your iPhone photos to iCloud.

Once your images are in iCloud, it’s easy to access them from your other devices (such as iPad or computer).

download photos from icloud

iCloud stores the full-resolution versions of your photos. However, depending on your iCloud settings, your iPhone might be storing smaller versions of your images (to free up space on your phone).

You can check your iCloud Photo settings by going to Settings > Photos. If Optimize iPhone Storage is selected, your iPhone will be storing smaller versions of your photos.

download photos from icloud

But don’t worry! You can download the full-resolution photos from iCloud at any time.

So, how do you download your full-resolution photos from iCloud to your iPhone?

First, ensure your phone has internet access. Wi-Fi is the best option. You can use your mobile data, but keep in mind that if you download a lot of photos you might exceed your data plan.

If you want to download a single picture to edit, simply open the photo in your preferred photo editing app. For example, open the Photos app and tap Edit at the top right.

download photos from icloud

The full-resolution image will begin downloading. Once it’s downloaded, you can go ahead and edit your photo.

download photos from icloud

Would you prefer to store the full-resolution versions of your photos on your iPhone (rather than smaller versions)?

If so, go to Settings > Photos > Download And Keep Originals.

download photos from icloud

If you have a lot of photos in iCloud, it might take several hours to download them all to your iPhone.

Once downloaded, your full-resolution images will be stored in the Photos app on your iPhone. Just keep in mind that your iPhone must have enough free storage space to store these photos.

2. How To Transfer Photos Between iPhone & iPad Using iCloud

Do you have an iPad as well as an iPhone?

download photos from icloud

If so, you can automatically download your iPhone photos to the iPad using iCloud.

Having your iPhone photos on your iPad allows you to view and edit your pictures on a bigger screen.

So, how do you transfer photos between iPhone and iPad?

It’s simple!

Just ensure iCloud Photos is enabled on both devices.

On your iPhone, go to Settings > Photos > iCloud Photos. Ensure iCloud Photos is switched on (green).

download photos from icloud

Now, do the same thing on your iPad (Settings > Photos > iCloud Photos).

All photos on both devices will be uploaded to iCloud. Once uploaded, the same images will appear in the Photos app on both your iPhone and iPad.

download photos from icloud

This is called “syncing.” When your photos are synced between devices, any changes you make on one device will be reflected on the other device.

So if you edit photos on your iPad, those edited images will automatically appear on your iPhone. And vice versa.

Just keep in mind that if you delete a photo from one device, it gets deleted from the other device too.

3. How To Download Photos From iCloud To Mac

Do you want to transfer your iPhone photos to your Mac computer? Perhaps you want to create a backup of your photos on an external hard drive?

1. Clean The Lenses For Crystal Clear Photos

Your mobile phone spends a lot of time in your hands, as well as your purse or pocket.

And as a result, the camera’s lenses can get covered in dirt, dust, and fingerprints.

Mobile Photography Tips

A dirty lens will leave smudges, blurs, or dust spots on your photos.

And that won’t look good!

So here’s the first of our mobile photography tips:

If you want clear and sharp photos, clean your phone’s lenses!

mobile photography tips

Use a soft cloth (or even your t-shirt) to gently wipe the lens.

If you’ve been shooting at the beach or in dusty conditions, blow on the lens first. This will remove any sand or dust that may scratch the lens.

mobile photography tips

Cleaning your iPhone lenses might seem obvious. But most people don’t remember to do it.

So get into the habit of cleaning the lenses on your phone.

Mobile Photography Tips

It will make a big difference to the clarity of your photos.

2. Set The Focus To Ensure Your Subject Is Always Sharp

Even if your lens is perfectly clean, sometimes your subject just doesn’t look sharp.

That’s because the camera’s autofocus doesn’t always focus where you want it to.

To ensure your subject is always in sharp focus, you’ll need to set the focus point manually.

Mobile Photography Tips

So, how do you set iPhone camera focus?

It’s actually super-easy!

mobile photography tips

Simply compose your shot, then tap on the screen where you want to set focus.

(You’d normally want to set focus on your main subject.)

A yellow box will appear to indicate the focus point.

Mobile Photography Tips

Now, just press the shutter button to take your photo.

The area that you set focus on will appear crisp and sharp.

Anything in front of or behind the focus point may appear out of focus.

mobile photography tips

Setting the focus is one of the best mobile photography tips you can learn.

It’s so simple to set focus. And it results in beautifully sharp photos that will stun the viewer!

3. Adjust Exposure For Perfect Brightness Levels

Do your photos often turn out too bright (over-exposed) or too dark (under-exposed)?

mobile photography tips

It doesn’t have to be this way!

So, how do you ensure your photos have the perfect level of brightness?

mobile photography tips

You simply adjust the exposure (brightness) before you take a picture.

Adjusting exposure in the iPhone Camera app is easy.

Start by tapping to set focus. Then swipe up or down to adjust exposure.

Mobile Photography Tips

Swipe up to make the image brighter. Or swipe down to make it darker.

Try to ensure the most important parts of the scene are exposed correctly.

When they’re correctly exposed, they’ll have plenty of color and detail.

mobile photography tips

Of course, sometimes you might want to deliberately under or over-expose your photo.

For instance, you’ll need to reduce exposure to create a silhouette photo where your subject appears completely black.

mobile photography tips

Or you might want to increase exposure to create a photo with bright, clean whites.

mobile photography tips

As you can see, the iPhone’s exposure feature offers amazing control over the brightness of your photos.

However, if you’re photographing a high-contrast scene, it can be difficult to achieve a good exposure.

Luckily, the iPhone camera offers a great solution!

Read on to discover one of the best mobile photography tips for capturing well-exposed photos of high-contrast scenes.

4. Use HDR For Evenly-Lit Photos With Amazing Detail

Taking photos of high-contrast scenes can be a problem when it comes to exposure.

A high-contrast scene has both dark and bright areas – such as a landscape with a bright sky and dark foreground.

mobile photography tips

When you take a photo, the camera struggles to capture detail in both the shadows (dark areas) and the highlights (bright areas).

You’ll usually end up with one of two problems:

Either the highlights will be correctly exposed, but the shadows will appear too dark. Or the shadows will be correctly exposed, but the highlights will appear too bright.

mobile photography tips

Fortunately, the iPhone camera has an amazing feature that helps you create more evenly-lit photos.

It’s called HDR.

HDR stands for High Dynamic Range. And it allows you to capture detail in both the shadows and the highlights.

mobile photography tips

So, how do you shoot HDR photos with your iPhone?

First, you need to check your HDR settings. Open the Settings app from the Home screen, and select Camera.

Mobile Photography Tips

If you want your iPhone camera to automatically shoot HDR photos whenever it needs to, ensure Smart HDR (Auto HDR on older iPhones) is switched on. When you shoot, you won’t need to think about using HDR – your camera will do the work for you!

If you’d prefer to control the HDR setting manually in the Camera app, switch Smart HDR off in Settings. With Smart HDR switched off, you’ll see an HDR icon at the top of the Camera app. Use this icon to turn HDR on whenever you want to shoot HDR photos.

Mobile Photography Tips

With HDR on, you can shoot beautiful photos with perfect exposure throughout the entire scene.

mobile photography tips

5. Shoot In Portrait Mode To Create Gorgeous Blurred Backgrounds

Do you want to shoot professional-looking photos with dreamy, blurred backgrounds?

mobile photography tips

You might think this is impossible with mobile phone photography.

But you don’t need a professional DSLR camera to blur the background in your photos.

If your iPhone camera has Portrait mode, you can easily blur the background when taking pictures.

Mobile Photography Tips

Portrait mode is available in the built-in Camera app on the following iPhones:

iPhone 11, iPhone 11 Pro, iPhone 11 Pro Max, iPhone XS, iPhone XS Max, iPhone XR, iPhone X, iPhone 8 Plus, and iPhone 7 Plus.

Portrait mode uses depth-effect software to keep your foreground subject sharp while blurring the background.

mobile photography tips

So, how do you use Portrait mode?

It’s simple!

In the iPhone Camera app, select the Portrait shooting mode at the bottom of the screen.

Mobile Photography Tips

Compose your shot, making sure your subject is between two and eight feet away. (The depth-effect won’t work if your subject is too close or too far away.)

When you see the words Natural Light in yellow, you’re ready to take a shot.

Mobile Photography Tips

Press the shutter button to take a stunning photo with a beautifully blurred background!

Mobile Photography Tips

Sometimes, you might not like the blur effect in a photo. But that’s not a problem!

You can easily remove the blur and revert to the regular version of the image.

Simply open your portrait photo in the Photos app, then tap Edit.

Mobile Photography Tips

Tap the yellow Portrait option at the top of the screen to remove the blur effect from your photo. You can turn the blur back on at any time by tapping Portrait again.

Mobile Photography Tips

If you have the iPhone 11, 11 Pro, 11 Pro Max, XS, XS Max, or XR, Portrait mode also has a feature called Depth-control.

Depth-control allows you to adjust the strength of the background blur… after taking the photo.

To adjust the background blur, open your photo in the Photos app, then tap Edit.

If you have one of the iPhone 11 models, tap the f-number icon at the top left of the screen. (On older iPhones, you don’t need to do this.)

Mobile Photography Tips

You’ll see the Depth slider beneath your image. Drag the slider left or right to make the blur stronger or weaker.

Mobile Photography Tips

When you’ve finished editing your Portrait mode photo, tap Done to save the changes.

6. Activate Burst Mode For Incredible Action Shots

Do you find it hard to capture great action photos of moving subjects?

Do you often miss the perfect shot because you don’t press the shutter button at exactly the right moment?

mobile photography tips

This is a common problem when shooting subjects that are moving.

But the iPhone has a hidden camera feature that helps you shoot amazing action photos.

It’s called burst mode!

mobile photography tips

Once you discover burst mode, you’ll be able to capture perfect action shots every time!

So what is burst mode? And how do you use it?

If you have one of the iPhone 11 cameras, activate burst mode by sliding the shutter button to the left. The camera will keep taking photos in quick succession until you release your finger.

Mobile Photography Tips

If you have iPhone XS or older, just hold down the shutter button to activate burst mode.

Mobile Photography Tips

Within the burst of images that you capture, you should have at least one photo with your subject in the perfect position or pose.

mobile photography tips

To avoid filling up your iPhone, you can keep the best images from the burst and delete the rest.

To select the photos you want to keep, open the Photos app. Find your burst and tap to open it.

Tap Select at the bottom of the screen. Scroll through the images and select the ones you like. Tap Done, then choose to keep only the photos you selected.

mobile photography tips

Burst mode is such an easy camera feature to use. And it will instantly improve your chances of shooting stunning action photos.

So ensure you use it whenever there’s movement or unpredictability in the scene.

mobile photography tips

Burst mode is perfect for photographing children and animals. It’s also great for street photography and capturing people on the move.

You can also use it to capture stunning water splash images.

mobile photography tips

Burst mode really will take your cell phone photography to the next level!

7. Switch Between iPhone Lenses To Zoom In Or Out

Do you have an iPhone with a dual-lens or triple-lens camera?

Mobile Photography Tips

If so, you can easily zoom in and out by switching between the iPhone camera lenses.

Zooming in allows you to capture a closer view of the scene. And zooming out lets you capture a wider angle of view.

mobile photography tips

The lenses that you have will depend on which iPhone model you own.

The iPhone 11 Pro and iPhone 11 Pro Max have three lenses: Wide, Ultra Wide, and Telephoto.

Mobile Photography Tips

The iPhone 11 has two lenses: Wide and Ultra Wide

Mobile Photography Tips

The iPhone XS, XS Max, X, 8 Plus, and 7 Plus all have two lenses: Wide and Telephoto.

Single-lens iPhones just have the Wide lens.

So, how do you switch between lenses when taking pictures?

You use the Zoom icons (0.5x1x, and 2x) at the bottom of the viewfinder.

Mobile Photography Tips

0.5x is the Ultra Wide lens. 1x is the Wide lens. And 2x is the Telephoto lens.

Note that you’ll only see the icons for the lenses that you have on your iPhone.

To use the Wide lens, ensure 1x is selected.

Mobile Photography Tips

This lens has a moderately wide angle of view which makes it suitable for most shooting situations.

To switch to the Ultra Wide lens, tap 0.5x.

Mobile Photography Tips

This allows you to zoom out to capture more of the scene in your photo. It’s perfect for shooting landscapes, cityscapes, and architecture.

Tap 2x to switch to the Telephoto lens.

Mobile Photography Tips

This lens allows you to zoom in and capture a closer view of the subject. It’s great for situations where you can’t physically get closer to your subject.

Below are three photos of the same scene captured with the Ultra Wide, Wide, and Telephoto lenses.

Mobile Photography TipsUltra Wide Lens

Mobile Photography TipsWide Lens

Mobile Photography TipsTelephoto Lens

As you can see, you get very different results depending on which lens you shoot with.

If you’re not sure which lens to use, why not capture the scene with each lens and then compare the results!

8. Keep Your Camera Steady For Sharp, Shake-Free Shots

Do your photos sometimes turn out blurry?

A common cause of blurry photos is camera-shake.

mobile photography tips

Camera-shake happens if you move the camera (even very slightly) when taking a photo.

Now, in bright light conditions, some slight camera movement usually isn’t a problem.

Because when there’s lots of light, the camera uses a fast shutter speed (to avoid too much light getting in).

A fast shutter speed freezes any movement in the scene, including camera movement. So in bright light, your shots will usually be nice and sharp.

mobile photography tips

But in low light conditions, the camera has to use a slower shutter speed. This lets more light in over a longer period of time.

During this longer exposure time, any movement (including camera movement) will be captured as a blur or streak.

And this is why you often get blurry photos when shooting in low light or at night.

To capture sharp photos in low light, you need to keep the camera really steady.

mobile photography tips

If you have an iPhone tripod and iPhone tripod mount, you can use them to keep your iPhone perfectly still when shooting.

mobile photography tips

But what if you don’t have a tripod?

Here are a few mobile photography tips for keeping your phone steady when you don’t have a tripod:

  • Rest your iPhone on a solid surface, such as a wall or rock.
  • Hold your iPhone with both hands, making sure you have a good tight grip.
  • Lean against a wall or tree to steady your body.
  • Position your elbows against your body to keep your arms steady.
  • Crouch down and rest your iPhone on your knee.

Just do whatever you can to keep your iPhone as still as possible – especially when shooting in low light.

mobile photography tips

If you do this, you’ll get the sharpest shots possible. And blurry iPhone photos will be a thing of the past!

If you have one of the iPhone 11 models, you can use Night mode when shooting in low light. This camera feature helps you capture sharper night photos with better color and detail.

Mobile Photography Tips

But even with Night mode, you’ll still get the best results by keeping your camera as steady as possible!

9. Use The Rule Of Thirds To Compose Beautiful Mobile Photos

Getting sharp, well-exposed photos is crucial. But composition is equally important.

Good composition is what sets apart an average photo from an amazing one.

mobile photography tips

Composing a visually pleasing image involves careful positioning of the important elements in the frame.

So how do you decide where to place your main subject or focal point?

You use the rule of thirds!

The “rule” states that you should position the most important elements off-center – rather than in the middle of the frame.

mobile photography tips

This creates more balanced and natural compositions – compositions that are engaging and pleasing to the eye.

Fortunately, the iPhone camera has a handy tool to help you compose using the rule of thirds.

What is this tool?

It’s called the camera grid.

mobile photography tips

To switch on the gridlines, open the Settings app from the Home screen of your iPhone.

Scroll down and select Camera. Then ensure the Grid option is switched on (green).

Mobile Photography Tips

Now, open the Camera app.

You’ll see two horizontal lines and two vertical lines in the viewfinder.

mobile photography tips

Now you can use the grid to help you position the key elements in your photo.

For example, you could position your main subject on one of the vertical lines, or where two gridlines meet.

mobile photography tips

If you’re shooting landscape photos, position the horizon along the top or bottom gridline – rather than across the middle of the frame.

(You can also use the gridlines to ensure the horizon is perfectly level).

mobile photography tips

The iPhone camera grid allows you to compose stunning photos using the rule of thirds.

So make sure you switch it on. And use it to help you decide where to position the most important parts of the scene.

But remember, rules are made to be broken! So once you’ve mastered the rule of thirds, try breaking it on purpose.

Mobile Photography Tips

Sometimes, placing your subject in the middle of the frame can create a striking image.

And if the scene is symmetrical, you can use a central composition to create perfect symmetry in your photo.

mobile photography tips

10. Use Leading Lines For Powerful Images With Incredible Depth

Do your images often look flat and lifeless?

Here’s one of the best mobile photography tips to avoid this:

Use leading lines.

Mobile Photography Tips

Leading lines are lines that lead from the foreground to the background of the scene.

A leading line could be a path, a road, a river, or a railway line.

mobile photography tips

It could be a fence, a wall, a bridge, or a row of trees.

mobile photography tips

It could even be footprints in the snow or the water’s edge at the beach.

mobile photography tips

You can use anything as a leading line – as long as it draws the viewer’s eye into the image.

To ensure the leading line creates a sense of depth in your photo, frame the shot so that the line starts in the foreground.

mobile photography tips

The line should either lead into the distance or towards your main subject.

This is such a simple composition technique. But it will have a huge impact on your mobile photography.

mobile photography tips

So whenever you’re out shooting, look for leading lines. Then use them to create incredible depth in your pictures.

11. Experiment With Different Perspectives For More Unique Images

Most people take photos from chest height while standing.

But you’ll get far more interesting photos by shooting from a different perspective.

mobile photography tips

So, always look for an alternative point of view when taking pictures.

Would the scene look more interesting if you shoot from a low angle?

Try crouching, kneeling, or even lying on the ground.

mobile photography tips

Shooting from a low perspective is great for making foreground subjects loom large in your photo.

You could also try shooting straight up at a tall building, tree canopy, or decorative ceiling.

mobile photography tips

What about shooting from a high vantage point?

Could you capture a more unique photo by looking down on your subject?

mobile photography tips

You could also get closer to your subject to capture its intricate detail.

You can create fabulous abstract images by getting close and filling the frame.

mobile photography tips

Here’s another perspective technique you can try:

Shoot through a “frame,” such as an archway, doorway, or window.

This adds wonderful foreground interest to your photo. And it draws the eye through the frame towards the background.

mobile photography tips

For really unique images, try shooting through a semi-transparent object.

You could use frosted glass or a window with water droplets.

mobile photography tips

You can create wonderfully abstract images using this method.

So remember: Don’t always go for the obvious shot.

Try to come up with some different mobile photography ideas where you can shoot from a more unique angle.

mobile photography tips

It will make a huge difference to your photography!

12. Simplify Your Compositions For The Most Striking Shots

The best photos are often the most simple ones.

mobile photography tips

If there’s too much going on in the scene, your photo will be confusing. The viewer won’t know what to focus their attention on.

So, always aim to simplify your compositions.

mobile photography tips

How do you create simple compositions?

Here are a few mobile photography tips for creating simple, striking photos:

First, try to include only one main subject in your photo. The more subjects you have, the more confusing the photo will be.

mobile photography tips

Second, ensure the background isn’t too busy or distracting.

You might need to change your shooting angle to eliminate distractions.

Mobile Photography Tips

Try taking a few steps to the left or right.

Or get down low so that you can include more sky in your photo.

mobile photography tips

Another option is to get closer and fill the entire frame with your subject.

This is an easy way to remove the background completely.

Mobile Photography Tips

And finally, try to include lots of empty space in your picture.

In photography, this empty space is called “negative space.”

Mobile Photography Tips

Including large areas of negative space helps draw attention to your subject.

And it creates wonderful, minimalist photos that really catch the eye.

So don’t forget one of the most important mobile photography tips:

Keep your compositions simple. Because simple images are the most striking!

What Is iCloud Photo Sharing?

iCloud Photo Sharing is a free service offered with Apple’s iCloud service. It’s a great way to share your photos and videos with family, friends, and colleagues.

iCloud Photo Sharing uses Wi-Fi. So you don’t need cables, USB, Bluetooth, or email to share your photos.

With iCloud Photo Sharing, you create a shared photo album for the images you want to share.

iCloud Photo Sharing

You can then choose who you want to share it with (up to 100 people).

Subscribers can view, like, and comment on photos in a shared album. They can also add photos and videos of their own.

iCloud Photo Sharing lets you share photos and videos from your iPhone, iPad, iPod Touch, Mac, or Windows computer. You can even share photos with people who don’t have iCloud Photo Sharing set up on their device.

iCloud Photo Sharing

Unlike Instagram or Facebook, shared iCloud albums only let people you’ve invited see photos. This offers greater privacy of your images as it keeps them out of sight of the public.

Shared photos and videos are stored in iCloud. But they don’t count against your iCloud storage limit. You’re free to share up to 5,000 photos without having to pay for more storage.

1. How To Set Up iCloud Photo Sharing On iPhone Or iPad

Before you begin sharing photos, you’ll need to set up iCloud Photo Sharing on your iPhone. You can also use these instructions to set up iCloud Photo Sharing on your iPad.

For the best experience, it’s advisable to update your iPhone or iPad to the latest iOS.

You can do this by opening the Settings app from the home screen of your iPhone. Then go to General > Software Update. If there’s an update available, follow the on-screen instructions to download and install it:

iCloud Photo Sharing

iCloud Photo Sharing is an Apple iCloud service. So you’ll need to sign in to iCloud with your Apple ID on your iPhone.

Go to Settings, then find the iCloud option and sign in with your Apple ID and password.

Once you’ve signed in to iCloud, go to Settings > [your name] > iCloud > Photos. Switch on the Shared Albums option at the bottom of the screen:

iCloud Photo Sharing

2. How To Use iCloud Photo Sharing On Your iPhone Or iPad

In this section, you’ll discover how to use iCloud Photo Sharing to share your photos with others.

iCloud Photo Sharing works in exactly the same way on both iPhone and iPad. So you can use these instructions to share your photos from either device.

2.1 Create A Shared Album

The first step is to create a new shared album.

Open the Photos app on your iPhone. Tap Albums (you might need to tap it twice) at the bottom of the screen to go to the main list of albums:

iCloud Photo Sharing

In the Shared Albums section, tap See All. The Shared Albums screen will open. Here, you’ll see any albums that you’ve shared with others or that others have shared with you:

iCloud Photo Sharing

To create a new shared album, tap Edit at the top right. Then tap the [+] icon in the top left corner:

iCloud Photo Sharing

Type a name for your shared album, then tap Next:

iCloud Photo Sharing

The next step is to invite people to subscribe to your shared album.

2.2 Invite People To Your Shared Album

You can now invite people to subscribe to your shared album. (You’ll add photos to the album in the next step.)

Invite people by typing their email address or iPhone number into the To box. Or tap the [+] to the right of the To box to access your iPhone contacts list. Then tap Create:

iCloud Photo Sharing

Note that when you invite a user by email, you’ll need to use their iCloud Apple ID contact information. If you’re not sure which email address they use for their iCloud account, confirm with them first – otherwise they won’t get the invite.

Your new shared album will appear at the top of the Shared Albums screen. Tap Done at the top right:

iCloud Photo Sharing

What if you want to share albums with a non-iCloud user?

Simply create a shared album as above, but don’t invite the person as a subscriber. Then open that new shared album, and tap the People tab at the bottom. Turn on Public Website:

iCloud Photo Sharing

iCloud will create a link to your shared album on the iCloud.com website. Tap Share Link to share that link with anyone you want. When they click on the link, they’ll be able to view your shared album.

After you’ve created a new shared album, it’s a good idea to check the settings for that album. Open the album, then tap the People tab at the bottom of the screen:

iCloud Photo Sharing

Switch on any settings that you want for this shared album. Subscribers Can Post means subscribers can add their own photos to your shared album. Notifications means you get notified when subscribers like, comment, or add photos to the album:

Tab Back at the top left to return to the Shared Albums screen.

2.3 Add Photos To A Shared Album

It’s now time to add some photos to your shared album!

Tap on the shared album you just created. Then tap the [+] icon:

iCloud Photo Sharing

Select the photos you want to share. Then tap Done:

iCloud Photo Sharing

Type a comment if you wish. Then tap Post:

iCloud Photo Sharing

The photos will appear in your shared album. People subscribed to that album will be able to see the shared images:

iCloud Photo Sharing

To exit the shared album, tap Back at the top left.

2.4 Subscribe To A Shared Album

Has someone else invited you to subscribe to their shared album? If you want to see the photos, you’ll need to accept their invitation.

When you receive a notification, accept the invitation to view the shared album.

2.5 Like & Comment On Photos

iCloud Photo Sharing allows the album creator and subscribers to like and comment on photos. Any subscribers signed in to iCloud can like and comment on the shared images.

If you think a photo looks great, tap the Like (thumb) icon at the bottom right to let others know that you like it:

iCloud Photo Sharing

To comment on a photo, tap Add A Comment at the bottom of the screen. Type your comment, and tap Send:

iCloud Photo Sharing

Note that if you’ve already liked a photo, you’ll need to scroll up to see the Add A Comment option.

2.6 Save Photos From A Shared Album

If someone adds a photo to a shared album, you can save it to the Photos app on your own iPhone.

Here’s how to download photos from iCloud shared album to your device:

Select the photo you want to save, and tap the Share icon (square with up arrow). Scroll down, then tap Save Image:

iCloud Photo Sharing

The photo will now be stored on your iPhone as well as in the shared iCloud album.

If the owner of the photo deletes it from the shared album, you’ll still have the image in the Photos app on your iPhone.

Other users can save your photos to their iPhone by following the same steps.

2.7 Delete Photos From A Shared Album

If you no longer want to share a photo, you can delete it from the shared album.

Select the image you want to delete. Tap the Delete (trash) icon at the top right. Then tap Delete Photo:

iCloud Photo Sharing

When you delete a photo, it gets deleted from the shared album on all your devices and all subscribers’ devices. But it doesn’t get deleted from its original location in the Photos app on your iPhone.

2.8 Remove A Subscriber From A Shared Album

Do you want to remove a subscriber from your shared album?

Open the shared album, then tap the People tab at the bottom of the screen. Subscribers’ contact details are at the top of the screen:

iCloud Photo Sharing

Tap on the subscriber you wish to remove. At the bottom of the screen, tap Remove Subscriber, then tap Remove.

iCloud Photo Sharing

That person will no longer have access to the shared album.

2.9 Delete A Shared Album

Do you want to delete a shared album that you created?

On the Shared Albums screen, tap Edit at the top right. Tap the red circle on the album you want to delete, then tap Delete:

iCloud Photo Sharing

The album (and all the photos in it) will be deleted from all devices of all subscribers. Subscribers will no longer have access to the shared album.

3. How To Use iCloud Photo Sharing On A Mac Computer

Do you have photos or videos on your Mac computer that you wish to share with other people?

If so, you can use iCloud Photo Sharing in the Mac Photos app – just like you do on your iPhone.

On your Mac, make sure you’re signed in to iCloud with your Apple ID. Do this by clicking the Apple icon at the top left of the screen, then go to System Preferences > iCloud:

iCloud Photo Sharing

Once you’re signed in to iCloud, open the Photos app on your Mac.

To ensure iCloud Photo Sharing is switched on, click Photos at the top left of the screen, then select Preferences:

iCloud Photo Sharing

Select the iCloud tab. Then ensure the Shared Albums box is checked:

iCloud Photo Sharing

Close the iCloud dialog box.

To create a shared folder on your Mac, ensure the Photos app is open.

On the left side menu, hover your mouse over Shared Albums and click the [+] icon. Give your album a name, invite people, and add a comment if you wish. Then click Create:

iCloud Photo Sharing

You can now add photos to the shared album. Select the photo you want to add (or select multiple photos by holding down the Shift or Command key).

Click the Share icon (square with up arrow) at the top of the screen. Select Shared Albums from the dropdown menu:

iCloud Photo Sharing

Click the album that you want to add the photo to:

iCloud Photo Sharing

4. How To Use iCloud Photo Sharing On A Windows Computer

If you have a Windows computer, you can still use iCloud Photo Sharing to share your photos with others.

iCloud Photo Sharing

You can create shared albums on a Windows computer as long as you have an iCloud account/Apple ID.

To enable iCloud Photo Sharing on Windows, download and install the iCloud For Windows software on your computer. Click here to download iCloud For Windows from the Apple website.

Once you’ve installed iCloud For Windows, open it and sign in with your Apple ID. Use the same Apple ID that you use on your iPhone.

Ensure the Photos box is checked. Then click on Options beside Photos:

iCloud Photo Sharing

Check the iCloud Photo Sharing box. Click Done, then click Apply:

iCloud Photo Sharing

Now you can create a shared album and invite people to view your photos. Open File Explorer on your computer. Then open iCloud Photos from the left-hand sidebar:

iCloud Photo Sharing

Click the New Shared Album button at the top of the screen. Add the iCloud email addresses for the people you want to invite.

Name your shared album, and click Next. Select the photos you want to add, then click Done.

Your photos will be shared to the album. Other subscribers can now see your pictures.

5. Shared Album Storage Limits

You can share up to 200 albums via iCloud Photo Sharing. And each shared album can contain a maximum of 5,000 photos or videos.

The great thing about iCloud Photo Sharing is that photos and videos in shared albums don’t count against your iCloud storage limit.

iCloud Photo Sharing

So you don’t need to worry about upgrading your iCloud storage plan. And it will never cost you any money to share your photos!

11. How To “Favorite” Your Best Photos
12. How To Manage Your Deleted iPhone Photos

1. What Are iPhone Photo Albums?

An iPhone photo album is a storage place for a particular set of images within the Photos app.

When you take a photo with your iPhone camera, the image gets stored in the Recents album of the Photos app.

iPhone Photo Albums

But the Photos app also contains other albums. And your iPhone automatically organizes your images into the appropriate album.

For example, Live Photos get stored in the Live Photos album. Portrait mode photos get stored in the Portrait album. Burst mode photos get stored in the Bursts album.

iPhone Photo Albums

The Shared Albums are for sharing your iPhone photos with others. And the People & Places albums are great for finding photos of a particular person or place.

iPhone Photo Albums

The People album uses facial recognition to group together all of the photos of a particular person. And the Places album displays your photos on a map.

iPhone Photo Albums

You can also create your own iPhone photo albums. This is perfect for organizing different collections of photos, such as landscape photos, family photos, etc.

iPhone Photo Albums

Organizing your photos into albums makes it much easier to find particular photos.

2. How To View Your iPhone Photo Albums

To find your iPhone photo albums, open the Photos app. Then tap Albums at the bottom of the screen.

iPhone Photo Albums

If you don’t see the Albums screen (similar to the one above), it means you’re currently viewing photos within one of your albums.

In this case, tap Albums at the top left to return to the main list of albums.

iPhone Photo Albums

3. View Your Entire Image Libary

Do you want to see every single photo and video on your iPhone?

Simply tap Albums at the bottom of the screen. Then tap on the Recents album.

iPhone Photo Albums

You’ll see the album name (Recents) at the top of the screen. And your images will be displayed as small thumbnails.

iPhone Photo Albums

Scroll through the image thumbnails, and tap an image to view it at full size. To return to the thumbnail images, tap the back arrow at the top left of the screen.

iPhone Photo Albums

To exit the Recents album, tap Albums at the top left.

iPhone Photo Albums

4. How To Use The Media Types Albums

Would you like to view just a certain type of photo or video?

Maybe you shot some beautiful portrait photos and you’d like to see them all in one place.

iPhone Photo Albums

Perhaps you took a bunch of panoramic shots, and you want to see which ones worked out.

iPhone Photo Albums

Or maybe you want to see all of the videos that you’ve shot with your iPhone.

Luckily, your iPhone automatically organizes different types of photos and videos into albums.

The albums are named according to the “media type,” e.g., VideosLive Photos, Portrait, Long Exposure, Panoramas, etc.

To access these albums, go to the main list of albums by tapping Albums at the bottom of the screen. Scroll down to the Media Types section, then tap the album you want to open.

iPhone Photo Albums

The example above shows images in the Portrait album. These are all of the photos that were taken using Portrait mode in the iPhone Camera app. (Portrait mode creates beautifully blurred backgrounds in your photos).

Keep in mind that all of these photos and videos can also be found in the Recents album. The Media Types albums just make it easier to find a particular type of photo or video.

5. Do Albums Use Up More Storage Space On Your iPhone?

Having images in multiple albums doesn’t use up more storage space on your iPhone.

For example, a Live Photo will appear in the Recents album as well as the Live Photos album. But it’s not taking up the storage space of two photos.

iPhone Photo Albums

The image is actually only stored once on your iPhone. But you can view it in either the Recents album or the Live Photos album.

The same goes for iPhone photo albums that you create yourself.

When you add a photo to an album you created, the photo doesn’t get duplicated and take up more storage space. The image is really only stored in one place on your iPhone, but it can be accessed from multiple albums.

6. How To Create Your Own iPhone Photo Albums

Do you want to organize your iPhone photos into different collections based on a theme?

Maybe you want to have all of your favorite landscape shots in one place. Perhaps you’d like to group all of your vacation photos together. Or maybe you’d like all of your best flower pictures in a single album.

iPhone Photo Albums

Creating your own iPhone photo albums lets you organize your images in any way you wish. And it makes it much easier to find and view just the photos you want to look at.

So how do you create your own albums in the Photos app?

First, find the photo or photos you want to put into a new album. Ensure you’re viewing the images in thumbnail view as shown below. Then tap Select at the top right.

iPhone Photo Albums

Select all of the photos you want to add to a new album. Then tap the Share icon at the bottom left of the screen.

iPhone Photo Albums

Scroll down and tap Add To Album.

iPhone Photo Albums

You now have two options:

You can select an existing album from the My Albums section. Or you can tap New Album to create a new one.

iPhone Photo Albums

If you’ve chosen to create a new album, type a name for the album. Then tap Save to add the photos to the album.

iPhone Photo Albums

To view the album you just added photos to, tap Albums at the top left. Your album will be in the My Albums section at the top of the screen.

iPhone Photo Albums

If you can’t see the album you want to open, swipe across the screen or tap See All.

Tap on the album name to view the images within that album.

iPhone Photo Albums

7. How To Change Album Name On iPhone

If you create an iPhone photo album, you can easily change the album name later if you wish.

Go to the main Albums screen (tap Albums at the bottom of the screen if necessary).

In the My Albums section, tap See All. Then tap Edit at the top right.

iPhone Photo Albums

Tap on the album name you want to change. Use the keyboard to type a new name. Then tap Done to save the changes.

iPhone Photo Albums

8. How To Rearrange Photos In iPhone Album

Once you’ve added images to an iPhone photo album, it’s easy to rearrange the order of the photos.

(Note that you can only reorder photos in albums that you’ve created yourself. You can’t change the order of photos in the built-in albums such as Recents, Videos, Bursts, etc.)

Here’s how to rearrange photos in iPhone albums that you’ve created:

Open the album you want to organize. Drag any photo to a different position within the album, then release your finger.

iPhone Photo Albums

9. How To Remove Photos From An iPhone Photo Album

Do you want to delete photos from an album you created?

If so, you have two options:

You can remove the photo from the album, but keep it in the Recents album. Or you can delete the image from both the album you created and the Recents album.

Here’s how to remove photos from an album without deleting them from the Recents album:

Open the album containing the photos you want to remove. Tap Select at the top right.

iPhone Photo Albums

Select all of the photos you want to remove. Then tap the Delete (trash) icon at the bottom right.

iPhone Photo Albums

Tap Remove From Album. The photos will be removed from the album, but they’ll still be stored in the Recents album.

iPhone Photo Albums

If you want to delete the photos from all albums on your iPhone, tap Delete on the above dialog box.

10. How To Delete Photo Albums From iPhone

You can easily delete iPhone photo albums that you’ve created.

Go to the My Albums section of the main Albums screen. Tap See All, then tap Edit.

iPhone Photo Albums

Tap the red circle on the album you want to delete.

iPhone Photo Albums

A message appears asking if you want to delete the album. But notice that it says the photos won’t be deleted.

iPhone Photo Albums

This is because the photos aren’t really stored in this album. They’re actually only stored in the Recents album.

Therefore, you can delete a photo album that you created, but the photos still remain in their original location within the Recents album.

To confirm that you want to delete the album (but not the photos within it), tap Delete Album.

11. How To “Favorite” Your Best Photos

Would you like to see all of your favorite images in a single album in the Photos app?

The iPhone makes it easy to mark your best images as “Favorites.” These images then appear together in the Favorites album.

To add a photo to the Favorites album, tap on the image to open it. Then tap the Favorites (heart) icon at the bottom of the screen so it turns blue.

iPhone Photo Albums

To view all of your Favorites, go to the main Albums screen, then open the Favorites album.

iPhone Photo Albums

If you no longer want a photo to appear in the Favorites album, tap on the photo to open it. Then tap the Favorites (heart) icon so it appears white.

iPhone Photo Albums

Please note, if you use the Delete button to remove a photo from the Favorites album, it will also be deleted from the main Recents album.

So, always unfavorite the photo using the heart icon rather than deleting it.

12. How To Manage Your Deleted iPhone Photos

Before you experiment with deleting your photos, it would be a good idea to transfer your photos from iPhone to computer. Or back them up to external or cloud storage. That way, you won’t lose any of your favorite images if you accidentally delete them.

You can use an iPhone photo transfer app to back up your photos. If you have a Mac computer, click here to learn how to download photos from iPhone to Mac. If you have a Windows computer, read our tutorial on how to transfer photos from iPhone to PC.

12.1 How To Delete Photos

To delete a single image from the Photos app, open the image and tap the Delete (trash) icon at the bottom right. Then tap Delete Photo.

iPhone Photo Albums

To delete several photos, ensure you’re viewing the images in thumbnail view (as shown below). Tap Select at the top right.

iPhone Photo Albums

Select all of the images you want to delete. Tap the Delete icon, then tap Delete Photos.

iPhone Photo Albums

When you delete photos from your iPhone, they don’t get permanently removed straight away.

Instead, the deleted photos go into the Recently Deleted album where they remain for 30 days.

Within that 30-day timeframe, you can recover photos and put them back into the Recents album. This is useful if you delete a photo by mistake!

You can also permanently delete photos before the automatic 30-day timeframe.

12.2 How To Recover Or Delete Photos From The Recently Deleted Album

To manage your deleted photos, go to the main Albums screen in the Photos app. Scroll down, and open the Recently Deleted album.

iPhone Photo Albums

You’ll now see all of your recently deleted photos. Each photo shows the number of days remaining before it’ll be permanently removed from your iPhone.

iPhone Photo Albums

Do you want to recover deleted images and move them back into the Recents album?

Start by tapping Select at the top right of the screen.

iPhone Photo Albums

Select the photos you want to recover. Tap Recover at the bottom right, then tap Recover Photos.

iPhone Photo Albums

Do you want to permanently delete photos from the Recently Deleted album before the automatic 30-day timeframe?

Select the photos you want to delete, then tap Delete at the bottom left. Tap Delete Photos to permanently delete the selected images from your iPhone.

iPhone Photo Albums

If you want to permanently delete all images from the Recently Deleted album, tap Select, then Delete All.

What’s the key to incredible iPhone photography? Some people work for years to master professional photography techniques. But all you really need are a few simple iPhone photography tips. In this tutorial, you’ll discover how to take good pictures using 10 quick and easy techniques. Read on to start taking better iPhone photos right now!

iPhone Photography Tips

1. Keep Your Photos Simple

Do you want to know how to take good photos with your iPhone? Start by keeping your pictures simple.

iPhone Photography Tips

New photographers often overcomplicate their photos. But too many details distract the viewer. A busy scene makes it hard to create a beautiful composition.

One interesting subject is all you need to take great pictures. It’s easier to create a strong composition when your picture only has one subject.

iPhone Photography Tips

Don’t worry if most of your photo is empty space. In photography, we call this negative space. It’s a great way to make your subject stand out.

iPhone Photography Tips

Before you take the shot, check the scene for any distracting elements. Move closer, or change your viewpoint, to remove unwanted objects from your photo.

iPhone Photography Tips

Minimalist compositions are ideal for sharing on Instagram. Your photos are more likely to stand out on the small screen of a phone if you keep it simple.

iPhone Photography Tips

Always aim to create clean and simple compositions. This is one of the easiest, yet most powerful iPhone photography tips you can learn.

2. Shoot From A Low Angle

Most people take iPhone photos from chest height. This is usually the most convenient way of taking a picture.

But there are usually more creative options for taking great photos. Learning how to take a good photo involves thinking outside the box!

iPhone Photography Tips

An easy way to improve your photos is to shoot from a different perspective. Often the best way to do that is to shoot from a lower angle.

iPhone Photography Tips

There are three great reasons to take pictures from a low angle. First, your photo will be more intriguing. It shows the world from a new perspective.

iPhone Photography Tips

Second, shooting from a lower angle shows your subject with nothing but sky in the background. This is perfect for removing unwanted distractions. It makes your subject stand out against the plain background.

A third benefit of shooting from low down is that you can show interesting details in the foreground.

iPhone Photography Tips

Are you shooting landscape photos? Try shooting from low down to include flowers in the foreground. Or capture ripples and reflections in water.

iPhone Photography Tips

For the ultimate low angle shot, try kneeling or even lying on the ground!

3. Show Depth In Your Photos

Most photos look better when they convey a sense of depth. Creating depth helps draw the viewer’s eye into the scene. This is especially important in landscape photography.

iPhone Photography Tips

There are several techniques to create depth in your photos. One of the most powerful methods is to use leading lines in your composition.

iPhone Photography Tips

Roads, paths, railway tracks, rivers and fences make excellent leading lines. At the beach, use the water’s edge or ripples in the sand.

Compose your photo so the line leads from the foreground into the distance. This draws the viewer through the scene, making your photo more engaging.

iPhone Photography Tips

Another way to create depth is to include something in the foreground. Look for rocks, flowers, leaves or other interesting objects.

iPhone Photography Tips

If you’re struggling to include foreground objects in your photo, shoot from a lower angle.

Try to include subjects in the foreground, middleground and background. This simple iPhone photography tip will immediately make your images more three-dimensional.

iPhone Photography Tips

A third way to create a sense of depth is to use something in the foreground to frame the scene. You could use archways, window frames or overhanging tree branches.

iPhone Photography Tips

Shooting through a frame draws the viewer’s eye through the frame to the scene beyond. This is a great way to create a stronger feeling of depth in your photo.

Never under-estimate the power of composition in photography. If you’re wondering how to take good photos with iPhone, this is one of the key skills to master.

4. Capture Close-Up Detail

One of the biggest photography mistakes is not getting close enough to the subject. This is particularly important when photographing objects with intricate details.

iPhone Photography Tips

If you shoot from too far away, you won’t capture the amazing details of your subject. Close-up patterns, textures and colors will bring your photos to life.

iPhone Photography Tips

Flowers, leaves, water droplets and other textured subjects look more exciting up close.

iPhone Photography Tips

Moving in close is also a good technique to use in portrait photography. Getting close lets you capture your subject’s facial features and emotions. This gives your portrait photos far more impact.

iPhone Photography Tips

Shooting up close works when photographing both people and pets. Get down to the level of your subject and don’t be afraid to get in close.

iPhone Photography Tips

Keep in mind that your iPhone won’t be able to focus if the lens is too close to your subject. To capture extreme close-ups of tiny detail, you’ll need an add-on macro lens.

iPhone Photography Tips

Macro lenses allow your camera to focus very close to the subject. There are many different macro lenses on the market.

Olloclip and Moment are two popular lenses to check out. The Hitcase macro lens also produces great results.

Of course, for genres like landscape photography, you’ll be photographing distant scenes. But you can still include close-up detail in the foreground. This is a great way to add extra visual interest and a stronger sense of depth.

iPhone Photography Tips

Don’t be afraid to get up close to foreground objects when you’re shooting scenery. It might make all the difference to your photo!

5. Take Silhouette Photos

One of the best iPhone photo tips is to shoot silhouettes. A silhouette is the dark shape of an object taken against bright light.

iPhone Photography Tips

Silhouettes create stunning photos that catch the viewer’s attention. And they’re actually very easy to achieve.

So how do you shoot an incredible silhouette photo with your iPhone? All you need is an interesting subject. Then shoot towards the light.

iPhone Photography Tips

For great results, ensure your silhouette appears nice and dark. In the Camera app, tap to set the iPhone focus. Then swipe down to darken the exposure. You can always darken the silhouettes further with an editing app.

iPhone Photography Tips

Silhouette photography works best during the golden hours of sunrise and sunset. With the sun low above the horizon, it’s easy to position the light behind your subject. And you’ll get a beautiful colored sky as your background.

iPhone Photography Tips

Sunrise and sunset are perfect for taking silhouette photos. But you can create them wherever there’s a light source behind the subject.

If you’re shooting indoors, place your subject in front of a window or lamp. In the photo below, I created a silhouette by using the reflected light from the floor tiles.

iPhone Photography Tips

Silhouettes create dramatic and eye-catching images. So this might be one of the best iPhone photography tips that you learn today.

6. Include Shadows In Your Composition

Shadows provide another way to improve your photography with iPhone. Photographing shadows adds a sense of mystery and intrigue to your images.

iPhone Photography Tips

Shadows are often more interesting than the subjects themselves. They create fantastic visual interest in the foreground of the scene. And they can even act as leading lines, like the shadows of the trees in the photo below.

iPhone Photography Tips

The longest shadows appear when the sun is low in the sky. So shoot during golden hour to capture long shadows in your iPhone photos.

iPhone Photography Tips

Ensure the shadows appear dark enough by adjusting exposure when shooting. In the camera app, tap to set focus, then swipe down so that the shadows appear nice and dark. If necessary, you can darken shadows in post-processing.

iPhone Photography Tips

You can use shadows to create stunning abstract images. So keep your eyes peeled for interesting shadow patterns.

iPhone Photography Tips

When photographing shadows, think about what you want to include in your shot.

You could include both the subject and its shadow in the frame. Or photograph only the shadows for a more unique and abstract image.

iPhone Photography Tips

7. Photograph Reflections

Reflections make wonderful iPhone photography subjects. You can find reflections on many different surfaces including glass, metal and ice. But water is the best surface for reflection photography.

iPhone Photography Tips

Ripples and waves on the water’s surface add an extra dimension to your reflection photos. They produce distortions in reflections which create a beautiful painterly effect.

iPhone Photography Tips

If there aren’t any waves, create them yourself by moving your hand through the water.

iPhone Photography Tips

In most cases, it looks best if you include both the subject and its reflection. Creating a symmetrical composition will have a very strong visual impact.

But in some cases, photographing only the reflection creates a beautiful abstract image. The photo below captures the reflection of a tree in shallow water.

iPhone Photography Tips

Once you start paying attention, you’ll notice reflections everywhere. And they’ll look stunning in your photos!

8. Use Symmetry

Using symmetry is a fun way to create a striking image. Challenge yourself to find symmetrical scenes wherever you go. Then compose your shot so that both halves of the photo are identical (or almost identical).

iPhone Photography Tips

Reflections provide an easy way to create perfectly symmetrical images. Position the line of symmetry across the center of the frame to create the symmetry.

iPhone Photography Tips

But reflections are only one way to create symmetrical compositions. Architecture and other man-made objects are often designed to be symmetrical.

iPhone Photography Tips

Composition guidelines such as the rule of thirds don’t encourage central subject placement. But sometimes it’s okay to break the rules!

9. Use Diagonal Alignment

Are you serious about learning how to take better pictures with iPhone? If so, you need to develop an eye for balanced compositions.

One of the best iPhone photography tips for creating visual harmony is to use diagonal balance in your photos.

iPhone Photography Tips

If you have two or three main subjects in your scene, try positioning them in diagonal alignment.

This is an easy way to create a more balanced composition. And it encourages the viewer’s gaze to flow through the scene.

If everything is on one side of the frame, your photo can look unbalanced. Diagonal balance will make a real difference to the impact of your photo.

iPhone Photography Tips

With certain kinds of photography, you can control subject placement.

With still life and portraits, you can move your subjects. Take a few moments to position the main elements in a diagonal composition.

iPhone Photography Tips

In other situations, you won’t have any control over the position of your subjects. For example, in landscape photography the objects are usually static and too big to move.

In environments like this, you’ll need to move yourself around the scene. Find a perspective where the main subjects appear in diagonal alignment.

iPhone Photography Tips

In the photo above, the ferns create diagonal balance with the cliffs in the distance. In the photo below, the two boats are in diagonal alignment.

iPhone Photography Tips

You can even use leading lines to create diagonal balance in your photos. In the photo below, the line of the water’s edge leads diagonally towards the hill at the top right.

iPhone Photography Tips

Train your eye to notice diagonal alignment of subjects. Then compose your shot to create a balanced composition. This will make your photos more engaging and interesting to look at.

10. Edit Your Photos With VSCO Filters

Do you want to know how to turn a good picture into an amazing one?

It’s simple. You just need to do some basic iPhone photo editing.

But you don’t need high-end editing skills or expensive photoshop apps to add beauty or drama to your iPhone photos.

iPhone Photography Tips

The easiest way to apply powerful yet subtle effects to your photos is to use VSCO filters. VSCO is the best filter app for applying beautiful, understated filters to your images.

Open the VSCO app, tap the plus icon (+) at the top right of the screen, and import the photo you want to edit:

iPhone Photography Tips

Now tap the Edit icon (two sliders) at the bottom of the screen. Select a filter of your choice:

iPhone Photography Tips

To reduce the intensity of the filter, tap the filter name, then drag the slider. Tap the checkmark at the bottom right when you’re happy with the effect:

iPhone Photography Tips

To save your edited image, tap Save at the top right. On the next screen, tap the three dots icon at the bottom right, select Save To Camera Roll, then select Actual Size:

iPhone Photography Tips

VSCO presets allow you to apply beautiful filters that enhance your photo in seconds. The filters are quite subtle, so it’s very difficult for you to over-edit your photos.

iPhone Photography Tips

There are plenty of filters to choose from in VSCO. You can create classic black and white images, crisp clean edits, or faded vintage photos.

iPhone Photography Tips

The app does offer more advanced VSCO photo editing tools. But you don’t need any technical knowledge to create amazing edits with VSCO presets. And the VSCO app is even free to download!

1. How To Transfer Photos From iPhone To PC: USB vs Wireless

There are two broad ways of transferring photos from your iPhone to your PC.

One way is to transfer photos using a USB cable. To transfer your photos this way, you’ll need your iPhone charger cable. Connect one end to your iPhone and the other end to a USB port on your computer.

You can also wirelessly transfer photos from iPhone to Windows. No cables are required. However, you’ll need to be connected to Wi-Fi to transfer photos. You’ll also need an Apple iCloud account (which will be discussed later).

2. How To Transfer Photos From iPhone To Computer Wirelessly

There are two simple ways of wirelessly transferring your iPhone photos to your Windows PC.

In this section, you’ll discover:

  • How to automatically transfer photos from iPhone to computer using iCloud Photos
  • How to download pictures from iPhone to PC using iCloud.com

Transferring photos using either method requires an iCloud account.

iCloud is a storage service offered by Apple. It allows you to upload media from your iPhone to your iCloud account. You can then download photos from iCloud to other devices.

You should have already set up an iCloud account when you first got your iPhone. iCloud gives you 5GB of free storage. However, if you take a lot of photos, you’ll probably want to upgrade to 50 GB (and there are options to upgrade to 200 GB and 2 TB, as well).

2.1 How To Transfer Pictures From iPhone To PC Using iCloud Photos

Do you want to know how to transfer pictures from iPhone to computer via iCloud Photos?

First, you need to enable iCloud Photo Library on your iPhone. Tap Settings, then Photos, then select iCloud Photos (or iCloud Photo Library, depending on your device).

How To Transfer Photos From iPhone To PC

Now, when you take a photo, it will be uploaded to iCloud (as long as you have Wi-Fi).

Second, you need to download the iCloud for Windows app onto your computer. You can click here to download it from the Apple website.

Install iCloud for Windows on your PC. Then sign in using your Apple ID (this is the same Apple ID you use for your iPhone App Store account).

Open the iCloud for Windows program on your computer.

Make sure you put a check mark next to Photos. Then tap the corresponding Options button.

There are several ways of transferring photos from iPhone to Windows PC via a USB cable. In this article, you’ll discover:

  • How to import photos from iPhone to PC using the Windows Photos app
  • How to copy photos from iPhone to PC using Windows AutoPlay
  • How to get photos from iPhone to computer with File Explorer/Windows Explorer

3.1 How To Import Photos From iPhone To PC Using Windows Photos App

If you’re using a Windows 8 or Windows 10 computer, you can transfer your photos via the Windows Photos app (also known as Microsoft Photos). The Windows Photos app comes already installed on your PC.

First, make sure you have the latest version of iTunes installed on your PC. To do this, open iTunes on your PC. Click Help. Then click Check for Updates. Follow the directions to install the latest version of iTunes.

Next, plug your iPhone into your PC using the USB charger cable.

A notification may appear on your iPhone, asking if you trust your computer. Alternatively, it may ask if you allow access to your photos and videos. In either case, say that you do. Then enter your device passcode when prompted.

How To Transfer Photos From iPhone To PC

On your PC, open the Photos app. This can be accessed through the Start menu.

Once you’ve opened the Photos app, you should be given the option to import your photos from iPhone to PC. On a Windows 10 computer, this option will be in the top right corner of the Photos app. On a Windows 8 computer, you’ll need to right-click anywhere on the Photos app, and the option to Import will appear.

How To Transfer Photos From iPhone To PC

Click Import. Select the items you want to import.

If you’re using a Windows 8 computer, click Import again.

On a Windows 10 computer, click Continue, then click Import again. On some devices, you only have to click Import Selected instead of Continue > Import. Then your computer will immediately begin to import photos from iPhone to PC.

The files will begin to transfer from your iPhone to your PC.

Once your PC has finished importing the photos, they can be found in folders within your Pictures folder. They will be automatically organized by date.

How To Transfer Photos From iPhone To PC

3.2 How To Copy Photos From iPhone To PC Using Windows AutoPlay

If you have a Windows 7 computer, you can’t transfer photos using the Photos app. Why is this? Because Windows 7 computers don’t have a Photos app!

However, you can transfer photos from iPhone to PC using Windows AutoPlay.

First, connect your iPhone to your computer. Allow the iPhone to access your computer when prompted. Enter your passcode.

When your iPhone connects to your computer, an AutoPlay window should open. Click Import Photos and Videos (ensure you choose the option with Photos beneath it, rather than the Dropbox option).

How To Transfer Photos From iPhone To PC

All of your photos will be imported from your iPhone and copied into your Pictures folder. They’ll be organized automatically into folders by date of import.

3.3 How To Get Photos From iPhone To Computer With File Explorer/Windows Explorer

Transferring photos using File Explorer (known as Windows Explorer on Windows 7 devices) is another way to get your iPhone photos onto your PC. It requires no programs.

First, connect your iPhone to your PC via the USB charger cable. Agree to any permissions that your iPhone requires, and enter your iPhone passcode if asked.

If you have a Windows 8 or Windows 10 PC, open File Explorer. You should see your iPhone under This PC, labeled Apple iPhone. Double-click on Apple iPhone.

How To Transfer Photos From iPhone To PC

If you have a Windows 7 PC, open Windows Explorer. You’ll find your iPhone under Computer, labeled Apple iPhone. Double-click on Apple iPhone.

Once you’ve clicked on Apple iPhone (on Windows 7, Windows 8, and Windows 10 computers), you’ll be taken to a folder labeled Internal Storage. Double-click to open this. And double-click to open the DCIM folder.

You’ll now see one or more folders. These contain your images (and other media, such as video files). They should be named things like 100APPLE, 101APPLE, 100CLOUD, 101CLOUD, etc.

How To Transfer Photos From iPhone To PC

If you want to copy all of the photos from your iPhone, click and drag to select all of the folders. Then right-click on any folder. Select Copy.

You now need to paste these folders of photos into the Pictures folder on your computer. Click Pictures on the left of the screen. Right-click on a blank space in the main part of the window, then select Paste. Your folders of photos will begin to transfer from your iPhone!

Once your photos have finished copying, you can access them by double-clicking on the folders within the Pictures folder.

If you prefer to copy specific photos from your iPhone, ensure Apple iPhone is selected on the left. Then double-click on the 100APPLE folder (or any other media folder).

You should now see the thumbnails for all of your iPhone photos. Now you can copy and paste specific photos straight from the 100APPLE folder into your Pictures folder (or any other folder on your computer).

What If Your Photos Are HEIFs?

If your files end with .HEIC, this means that your photos are HEIFs. This is a new image file format offered on iPhones.

If your photos are HEIFs, you won’t be able to access them via File Explorer/Windows Explorer on your computer. Therefore, you’ll need to ensure that your iPhone automatically converts your HEIF photos to JPEGs when exporting to your PC.

To do this, tap Settings on the Home screen of your iPhone. Then tap Photos, and check Automatic under Transfer To Mac Or PC.

Cable Or Wireless Transfer?

There are two main ways to transfer photos from iPhone to Mac:

  • Download photos from iPhone to Mac using the iPhone’s charger cable
  • Copy photos from iPhone to Mac wirelessly (without a cable)

Once you’ve explored the different ways to transfer photos, you can decide which method works best for you.

How To Transfer Photos From iPhone To Mac Wirelessly

Do you want to know how to transfer photos from iPhone to Mac wirelessly?

There are many iPhone photo transfer apps available. Below, you’ll discover two ways to copy photos from iPhone to Mac without having to use any cables:

  • Download photos from iPhone to Mac using iCloud Photos
  • Transfer photos from iPhone to Mac using AirDrop

Method 1: Download Images Using iCloud Photos

Best For: Automatic wireless transfer of all photos from your iPhone

iCloud Photos offers a simple way to transfer your entire photo library from iPhone to Mac.

It doesn’t involve any cables. And once you’ve set it up, new photos that you take with your iPhone automatically download to your Mac.

You’ll never have to think about copying photos to your Mac again!

The photo transfer happens automatically – as long as you’re connected to Wi-Fi.

1.1 What Is iCloud Photos?

iCloud Photos is Apple’s online photo storage service. When you activate iCloud Photos, all your iPhone photos get stored in iCloud.

Images in iCloud automatically download to your other iCloud devices – including Mac and iPad.

How To Transfer Photos From iPhone To Mac

We call this process ‘syncing’. When you sync iCloud Photos on your iPhone and Mac, the same photos appear on both devices.

iCloud Photos is the most convenient long-term solution for transferring photos from iPhone to Mac.

Note that iCloud Photos is different to iCloud Photo Sharing. If you’d like to share your photos with other people, iCloud Photo Sharing is a great option.

1.2 Switch On iCloud Photos

How do you start using iCloud Photos?

It’s simple!

On your iPhone, go to Settings > Photos. Ensure iCloud Photos is on (green).

How To Transfer Photos From iPhone To Mac

You also need to switch on iCloud Photos on your Mac. Click the Apple icon at the top left of the screen, then go to System Preferences > iCloud.

How To Transfer Photos From iPhone To Mac

Select the Photos checkbox. Then click Options next to Photos.

How To Transfer Photos From iPhone To Mac

A new dialog box will appear as shown below. Select the iCloud Photos checkbox. If you don’t have the latest macOS (Mojave), this checkbox is titled iCloud Photo Library.

How To Transfer Photos From iPhone To Mac

Click Done. Then close the iCloud options window.

Note that you must be signed in with the same Apple ID on your iPhone and Mac. You can check this on your iPhone by going to Settings > [your name] > iCloud. On your Mac, go to System Preferences > iCloud.

iCloud Photos is now set up on your iPhone and Mac. Your entire iPhone photo library will begin copying to the Photos app on your computer. This may take some time if you have a lot of photos.

But once the initial transfer is complete, new photos you take with your iPhone automatically upload to iCloud (as long as you have Wi-Fi). These images then automatically download to the Photos app on your Mac.

Note that you’ll need enough iCloud storage to store all your images in iCloud Photos. You get 5GB of free iCloud storage. But you’ll need more if you take a lot of photos.

You can buy more iCloud storage by going to Settings on your iPhone. Tap [your name] at the top of Settings, then select iCloud.

How To Transfer Photos From iPhone To Mac

Tap Manage Storage for the option to change or upgrade your storage plan.

iCloud storage plans start at $0.99 a month for 50GB.

1.3 Open Photos App On Your Mac

iPhone photos that are synced via iCloud appear in the Photos app on your Mac. Open the Photos app on your computer to see your images.

How To Transfer Photos From iPhone To Mac

The images in the Photos app on your iPhone and Mac will be identical. If you’ve organized your photos into albums on your iPhone, these same albums appear in the Photos app on your Mac.

Since the Photos app on iPhone and Mac are synced via iCloud, changes you make on one device are reflected on the other device.

For instance, if you delete an image from the Photos app on your iPhone, it gets deleted from the Photos app on your Mac.

Have you spotted a problem?

What if you want to delete photos from your iPhone, but keep them on your Mac?

Fortunately, there’s a simple solution!

Read on to find out how to delete images from the Photos app, but keep them on your Mac.

1.4 Export Images From The Photos App

The Photos app on your Mac lets you download photos from iCloud to a folder on your computer or external hard drive. This creates a backup copy of the images that aren’t affected by changes you make in the Photos app.

So you can delete images from the Photos app on your iPhone or Mac, while the backed-up photos remain on your hard drive.

To export your images, open the Photos app on your Mac. Select the photos you want to export to your hard drive.

How To Transfer Photos From iPhone To Mac

You’ll need to hold down the Command key to select several images. Or to select a group of photos, click the first image, hold down the Shift key, then select the last image. To select all photos, press Command + A on your keyboard.

The selected photos appear with a blue outline.

Click File > Export > Export Photos.

How To Transfer Photos From iPhone To Mac

Set your export preferences, or leave the settings as shown below. Then tap Export.

How To Transfer Photos From iPhone To Mac

In the left sidebar, select the location you want to export the photos to. For instance, you could copy them to the Pictures folder on your Mac’s hard drive. Or you could back them up to an external hard drive. Finally, click Export.

How To Transfer Photos From iPhone To Mac

The selected photos will be copied from the Photos app to your Mac’s hard drive.

You’re now free to delete these photos from the Photos app. The images that you exported will remain on the hard drive.

It’s a good idea to regularly back up all your photos from iCloud onto your Mac or external hard drive. Use the Export option in the Photos app to do this.

1.5 What If Your Photos Are In HEIF Format?

Is your iPhone running iOS 11 or later? If so, you can choose to take photos in traditional JPEG format or the new HEIF format.

HEIF stands for High Efficiency Image File Format. iPhone photos captured in HEIF format have a reduced file size. This means they take up less storage space on your iPhone or computer.

Are you unsure whether your iPhone camera is capturing photos in JPEG or HEIF format? On your iPhone, go to Settings > Camera > Formats.

How To Transfer Photos From iPhone To Mac

If High Efficiency is active, your camera is using HEIF format. If Most Compatible is active, your iPhone is capturing photos in JPEG format.

How To Transfer Photos From iPhone To Mac

The problem with HEIFs is not all computers and software recognize this new image format.

Ensure your Mac is running the latest macOS (Mojave) so that the Photos app recognizes your HEIF files.

Do you want to export HEIF files from the Photos app on your Mac to a folder on your hard drive?

In the Photos app, you’ll need to click File > Export > Export Unmodified Original. This ensures your HEIF images don’t get converted to JPEGs on export.

Method 2: Transfer Photos Using AirDrop

Best For: Wireless transfer of selected photos directly to your Mac’s hard drive

Apple’s AirDrop feature lets you wirelessly transfer photos between nearby Apple devices.

AirDrop doesn’t automatically transfer images the way iCloud Photos does. Instead, you have to select which photos you want to copy.

The other difference is that the photos get transferred directly to the hard drive of your Mac. They don’t go into the Photos app on your computer.

AirDrop is a quick and easy way to transfer photos from your iPhone to a folder on your Mac. It’s perfect when you have only a few photos to copy.

2.1 Switch On Wi-Fi & Bluetooth

To use Airdrop, make sure Wi-Fi and Bluetooth are activated on your iPhone. You can turn on both of these in Settings.

How To Transfer Photos From iPhone To Mac

You can also access the Wi-Fi and Bluetooth settings using the following shortcut:

On iPhone X and the latest iPhone XS, XS Max and XR, swipe diagonally from the top corner of the screen. On older iPhones, swipe up from the bottom of the screen.

Ensure the Wi-Fi and Bluetooth icons are both on (blue) as shown below.

How To Transfer Photos From iPhone To Mac

Your Mac also needs to have Wi-Fi and Bluetooth turned on. You’ll find the icons for these at the top right of the screen on your Mac.

How To Transfer Photos From iPhone To Mac

Lastly, make sure you’re signed in to iCloud with the same Apple ID on both devices. You can check this on your iPhone by going to Settings > [your name] > iCloud. On your Mac, go to System Preferences > iCloud.

2.2 Import Photos To Mac With AirDrop

On your iPhone, open the Photos app and find the images you want to transfer.

Ensure you’re viewing the photos in thumbnail view as shown below. Tap Select in the top right corner.

How To Transfer Photos From iPhone To Mac

Tap the photos you want to copy to your Mac (selected photos appear with a blue checkmark). Then tap the Share icon (a square with an up arrow).

How To Transfer Photos From iPhone To Mac

In the AirDrop section, tap the name of your Mac computer. The selected photos will transfer to your Mac.

How To Transfer Photos From iPhone To Mac

Photos that you AirDrop from your iPhone go into the Downloads folder on your Mac.

To find the Downloads folder, open Finder on your Mac, then click Downloads on the left.

How To Transfer Photos From iPhone To Mac

You can now drag the photos from Downloads to a folder of your choice.

2.3 AirDrop & HEIF Format

If your iPhone is capturing images in HEIF format, ensure your Mac is running macOS Mojave. On older versions of macOS, your HEIF images get converted to JPEGs when you AirDrop them.

How To Transfer Photos From iPhone To Mac With A Cable

In this section, you’ll learn how to import photos from iPhone to Mac using your iPhone’s charger cable.

Below you’ll discover two easy methods for wired transfer of images:

  • Import images from iPhone to the Photos app on your Mac
  • Download photos directly into a folder on your Mac using Image Capture

Method 3: Import Images Into Photos App On Mac

Best For: Transfer of images to Mac Photos app without using iCloud Photos

What if you don’t want to use iCloud Photos to automatically sync photos between iPhone and Mac? How can you get your iPhone photos into the Photos app on your computer?

You just need to use your iPhone’s charger cable to connect the phone to your Mac.

3.1 Import Images To Photos App On Mac

Connect your iPhone to your Mac with the phone’s charger cable. Then open the Photos app on your Mac.

3.2 Photos App & HEIF Format

Are you importing HEIF photos from your iPhone?

Ensure your Mac is running macOS Mojave. That way, you’ll be able to work on your HEIF images in the Photos app on your Mac.

3.3 Export Images From The Photos App

Would you like to back up your imported photos to a folder on your Mac or external hard drive?

Use the Export option as described in Section 1.4 above.

Method 4: Copy Photos To Folder On Mac Using Image Capture

Best For: Transfer of photos to a folder on your Mac or external hard drive

Do you want to bypass the Photos app on your Mac?

Would you rather transfer images directly to a folder on your Mac’s hard drive or external drive?

The Image Capture app offers an easy way to do this.

It’s useful if you like to keep your photos organized in folders on your Mac. And it’s great for creating a backup of your iPhone photos on an external hard drive.

4.1 Import Photos With Image Capture

Start by connecting your iPhone to your Mac using the phone’s charger cable.

Open the Image Capture app on your Mac. If prompted, unlock your iPhone.

In the left sidebar, select iPhone. Your iPhone photos will appear in the main part of the window.

How To Transfer Photos From iPhone To Mac

Now you need to select the photos you want to import. To select individual photos, hold down the Command key as you click the images. Selected photos are highlighted blue.

Or to select a group of photos, click the first photo, then hold down the Shift key and click the last photo.

Once you’ve selected your photos, click into the Import To box at the bottom of the window.

How To Transfer Photos From iPhone To Mac

Select the folder you want to copy the photos to. For example, you could copy them to the Pictures folder on your Mac. To view more folders or create a new one, click Other in the pop-up menu.

When you’ve selected your destination folder, click Import.

Would you rather import all images from your iPhone? Click Import All instead of selecting individual photos.

4.2 Image Capture & HEIF Format

Are you using Image Capture to copy HEIF files from your iPhone to Mac? If so, you need to be careful that Image Capture doesn’t convert them to JPEGs.

To prevent the images transferring as JPEGs, check the following setting on your iPhone:

Go to Settings > Photos. Scroll down to the Transfer To Mac Or PC section, and ensure Keep Originals is active.

When you copy HEIFs from iPhone to Mac using Image Capture, the photos will remain as HEIFs when transferred.

Are you struggling with how to transfer photos from iPhone to computer? With so many different photo transfer apps and methods, it’s not surprising you’re confused. Whether you’ve got a Mac or PC, this step-by-step tutorial shows you how to import photos from your iPhone. Read on to discover how to transfer photos from iPhone to PC or Mac.

How To Transfer Photos From iPhone To Computer

This tutorial has two main sections. Section 1 covers how to copy photos from iPhone to PC (Windows). Section 2 covers how to download photos from iPhone to Mac.

There are several different methods for copying photos from your iPhone to computer. Some involve connecting your iPhone to the computer with a USB cable. Others allow you to transfer images wirelessly and automatically.

Table Of Contents: How To Transfer Photos From iPhone To Computer

Click any title link below to go straight to that section of the tutorial:

Section 1: How To Transfer Photos From iPhone To Windows PC

  1. iCloud Photo Library On Windows PC
  2. Windows Photos App
  3. Windows AutoPlay Options

Section 2: How To Transfer Photos From iPhone To Mac

  1. iCloud Photo Library On Mac
  2. Photos App On Mac
  3. Image Capture App On Mac
  4. AirDrop

USB Cable Or Wireless Transfer?

First you need to decide whether you want to transfer your photos wirelessly or with a cable.

If using a cable, you’ll need to connect your iPhone to a USB port on your computer using the Lighting cable. This is the cable you use to charge your iPhone.

If you’d prefer not to use a cable, you can transfer your images wirelessly using iCloud Photo Library or AirDrop.

What Is iCloud Photo Library?

iCloud is Apple’s online data storage service. iCloud Photo Library lets you store your entire photo collection in iCloud.

Photos in the iCloud Photo Library automatically download to all your other iCloud devices. This includes your iPhone, iPad, Mac or Windows PC. Photos transfer over Wi-Fi, so there’s no need for any cables.

How To Transfer Photos From iPhone To Computer

To switch on iCloud Photo Library on your iPhone, go to Settings > [your name] > iCloud > Photos. When the iCloud Photo Library option is on, your entire photo library will upload to iCloud.

To use iCloud Photo Library, you’ll need to ensure you have enough iCloud storage. On your iPhone, go to Settings > [your name] > iCloud > Manage Storage.

Apple gives you 5GB of free iCloud storage. But if you have a lot of photos, you’ll need to buy more storage. iCloud storage plans start at $0.99 a month for 50GB.

If you choose not to use iCloud Photo Library, you can manually transfer photos to your computer using a USB cable.

Note that iCloud Photo Library is different to iCloud Photo Sharing. If you want to share your photos with other people, iCloud Photo Sharing is the perfect option.

Section 1: How To Transfer Photos From iPhone to PC (Windows)

Below you’ll discover how to import photos from iPhone to PC (Windows). The iCloud method transfers your images automatically and wirelessly. The other two methods show you how to transfer pictures from iPhone to PC using a USB cable.

1. iCloud Photo Library On Windows PC

iCloud Photo Library makes it easy to transfer pictures from iPhone to PC. Once it’s set up, any new photos you take will automatically download to your Windows computer.

In this section, you’ll learn how to download pictures from iPhone to computer using iCloud For Windows.

First, ensure you switch on iCloud Photo Library on your iPhone. Go to Settings > [your name] > iCloud > Photos. Switch on iCloud Photo Library to ensure your photos get stored in iCloud.

How To Transfer Photos From iPhone To Computer

Next, make sure you have the iCloud For Windows software installed on your computer. If you don’t already have it, click here to download it from the Apple website.

On your computer, open iCloud For Windows. Sign in with the same Apple ID as your iPhone. To switch on iCloud Photo Library, check the box next to Photos:

How To Transfer Photos From iPhone To Computer

Now click Options next to Photos. Check the iCloud Photo Library box:

How To Transfer Photos From iPhone To Computer

Do you want new photos from your iPhone to automatically download to your computer? Check the Download New Photos And Videos To My PC box.

Do you want photos from your PC to automatically upload to iCloud so you can access them from your iPhone? If so, check the Upload New Photos And Videos From My PC box. Uncheck this box if you don’t want photos from your computer in iCloud.

When you’ve selected your preferences, click Done, then Apply. Now, whenever you take photos on your iPhone, they’ll download to your computer (as long as you have Wi-Fi).

So how do you find these images on your computer? Open File Explorer, then open iCloud Photos from the Pictures library or the left-hand sidebar:

How To Transfer Photos From iPhone To Computer

In the iCloud Photos folder, pictures from your iPhone will appear in the Downloads folder. If you wish, you can then copy or move them to another folder on your computer.

You can also download your iPhone photo collection by year. In the iCloud Photos folder, click Download Photos And Videos. Select the images you want to download, then click Download.

2. Windows Photos App

On Windows 8.1 and Windows 10, the Photos app on your computer provides an easy way to import photos from iPhone to PC. This method involves connecting your phone to the computer with a USB cable.

Before you start, ensure you have the latest version of iTunes on your PC. You’ll need iTunes 12.5.1 or later.

To check this, open iTunes, then click Help. Next, tap Check for Updates, and follow the instructions to install the newest version of iTunes.

Connect your iPhone to your computer with the USB Lightning cable. Unlock your iPhone using your passcode if prompted. You might also see a prompt on your phone asking you to Trust This Computer. Tap Trust or Allow to continue. Then open the Photos app on your PC.

If you have a Windows 10 computer, follow these instructions:

You’ll be given the option to import your photos. The button will be in the top right corner of the screen. Click Import. Choose the items you’d like to transfer.

When prompted, click Continue. Then click Import once more.

(Alternatively, you may simply be given the option to click Import Selected instead of Continue > Import. If this is the case, click it when prompted.)

Now your images will begin to download to your computer!

How To Transfer Photos From iPhone To Computer

If you have a Windows 8 Computer, follow these instructions:

After opening the Photos app, right-click anywhere on the screen. The option to import your photos will appear. Click Import.

Next, select all the items you want to transfer to your PC.

Finally, click Import once again. Your pictures will begin to transfer to your PC.

By default, Windows saves the photos into the Pictures library. They will be organized automatically by date.

3. Windows AutoPlay Options

If you have Windows 7 you won’t have the Photos app on your PC. But you can use the AutoPlay options to import photos from your iPhone. You can also use this method on Windows 8.1 and 10 machines if you don’t want to use the Photos app.

Connect your iPhone to your computer with the USB cable. Your phone might ask if it’s okay to trust the computer. Tap Trust, and enter your passcode to unlock your phone.

The AutoPlay window appears on your computer screen when your iPhone is connected. This window offers several options:

How To Transfer Photos From iPhone To Computer

To import new photos from your iPhone in a single step, click Import Photos And Videos (Photos). With this option, Windows detects the newest pictures on your device. It then imports them into a folder in the Pictures library.

The folder is automatically named with the date you imported the photos. It won’t import duplicate versions of older photos that you’ve already copied to your PC.

During the import process, you can tag the photos with a descriptive tag name if you wish. If you add a tag, this will appear in the folder name along with the date. Click Import to start importing your photos. Remember, you’ll find the imported photos in the Pictures library inside a folder with the import date.

If you prefer to choose which images to import, select Open Device To View Files when the AutoPlay window appears. This allows you to copy and paste or drag and drop your images from iPhone to PC.

If you choose this option, you’ll see a window that shows your iPhone as an Internal Storage device. Double click this icon to open up the folder directory on your iPhone:

How To Transfer Photos From iPhone To Computer

Double-click the folder called DCIM (short for Digital Camera Images). You’ll see one or more folders named something like 100APPLE, 101APPLE, etc. These are where the iPhone stores your photos. Double click a folder to view the images within it.

Select the photos you want to transfer to your computer. You can now drag and drop them onto the Pictures library in the left-hand sidebar. Or you can copy and paste them into the Pictures library – or any other location. To copy and paste, use the icons in the top toolbar, or right-click to access these options.

After importing photos onto your computer, you can then further organize them into different folders if you wish.

SECTION 2: HOW TO TRANSFER PHOTOS FROM IPHONE TO MAC

In this section, you’ll learn how to import photos from iPhone to Mac. The iCloud method transfers your images automatically and wirelessly. AirDrop is another wireless transfer option. You can also use the Photos app or Image Capture app to copy pictures using a USB cable.

1. iCloud Photo Library On Mac

iCloud Photo Library makes for seamless transferring of images from iPhone to Mac. With iCloud Photo Library enabled, the Photos app on your Mac will sync with the Photos app on your iPhone. Any new photos you take with your iPhone will automatically download to the Photos app on your Mac.

How To Transfer Photos From iPhone To Computer

In this section you’ll learn how to download photos from iPhone to computer (Mac) using iCloud Photo Library.

To sync the Photos apps on your iPhone and Mac, enable iCloud Photo Library on both devices. On your iPhone, go to Settings > [your name] > iCloud > Photos. Switch on iCloud Photo Library to ensure your photos get stored in iCloud.

How To Transfer Photos From iPhone To Computer

On your Mac, go to System Preferences > iCloud. Select the Photos checkbox, then click Options next to Photos:

How To Transfer Photos From iPhone To Computer

Select the iCloud Photo Library checkbox, then click Done, and close the System Preferences window:

How To Transfer Photos From iPhone To Computer

When you first switch on iCloud Photo Library, you’ll need to wait a while for the photos to sync between your iPhone and Mac.

When the two devices are synced via iCloud, the Photos app on your Mac will display the same collection of photos that you see on your iPhone:

How To Transfer Photos From iPhone To Computer

The Photos app on your Mac will be an exact copy of the Photos app on your iPhone. It’s even organized in the same way as the Photos app on your iPhone. For example, if you organize photos into albums on your iPhone, those same albums will appear on your Mac.

Deleting images from the Photos app on your phone will delete them from the Photos app on your Mac. And vice versa.

To delete photos from your iPhone, but keep them on your computer, you’ll need to export them onto your hard drive. To do this, open the Photos app on your Mac and select the images you want to export.

Click File > Export > Export Photos. Set your export preferences, then click Export. Choose the folder you want to export the photos to (this could be on your Mac’s hard drive or an external drive). Click Export to copy the images from iCloud Photos Library to your computer’s hard drive.

2. Photos App On Mac

What if you don’t want to use iCloud Photo Library to auto-download photos from your iPhone to Mac? If this is the case, you can import them manually into the Photos app.

Connect your iPhone to your Mac with the USB Lighting cable (charger cable). Open the Photos app on your Mac. Under Import in the left-hand sidebar, click iPhone. Unlock your iPhone with your passcode if prompted.

Select the images you want to copy from your iPhone, then click Import Selected at the top right. Or you can click Import All New Items to import all new photos since your last import:

How To Transfer Photos From iPhone To Computer

Imported photos will appear in the Last Import album in the left-hand sidebar. They’ll also appear in the All Photos album.

To copy these images to a folder on your Mac’s hard drive or external drive, go to File > Export > Export Photos.

3. Image Capture App On Mac

Image Capture is another app you can use to copy photos from your iPhone to Mac. This app requires you to connect your iPhone to the computer with a USB cable.

Image Capture lets you import photos straight into a folder on your Mac’s hard drive (or an external drive), rather than into the Photos app. This method is useful if you like to have your photos organized into folders on your hard drive. You can always import them into the Photos app from your hard drive afterwards.

Connect your iPhone to your Mac using the USB cable. Open the Image Capture app on your Mac, and unlock your iPhone if prompted. Select iPhone in the Devices section on the left of the window. Your iPhone photos will appear on the right:

How To Transfer Photos From iPhone To Computer

Now select the photos you want to import. Hold down the Command key to select individual photos. Or to select a group of images, click the first photo, hold down the Shift key, then click the last photo.

Click into the Import To box at the bottom of the window, and select the folder you want to copy the photos to. To view more folders or make a new folder, click Other in the pop-up list:

How To Transfer Photos From iPhone To Computer

Click Import at the bottom right to transfer the selected images to your computer. Alternatively, you can import all images from your iPhone by clicking Import All.

4. AirDrop

Apple’s AirDrop feature lets you wirelessly share your photos with other nearby Apple devices. So if you have a Mac, you can use AirDrop to transfer photos from your iPhone to computer.

To use AirDrop, ensure your iPhone has Wi-Fi and Bluetooth turned on in Settings. Or swipe up from the bottom of the screen, then make sure the Wi-Fi and Bluetooth icons are both blue:

How To Transfer Photos From iPhone To Computer

Your Mac also has to have Wi-Fi and Bluetooth switched on. The icons for these are at the very top of the screen.

Finally, ensure you’re signed in to iCloud with the same Apple ID on both devices. On your iPhone you can sign in to iCloud by going to Settings > [your name] > iCloud. On your Mac, go to System Preferences > iCloud.

On your phone, open the Photos app and locate the images you want to copy. Tap Select at the top right, then select the photos you want to transfer. Tap the Share icon (square with up arrow) at the bottom left of the screen:

How To Transfer Photos From iPhone To Computer
In the AirDrop section, you’ll see the names of nearby Apple devices that have AirDrop switched on. Tap the name of your Mac to transfer the images from your iPhone:

How To Transfer Photos From iPhone To Computer

Photos that you transfer to your Mac via AirDrop will appear in the Downloads folder. On your Mac, open Finder, then click Downloads in the left-hand sidebar. You can now move the photos from Downloads to a folder of your choice using drag and drop.

Are you wondering how to become Instagram famous? If you want more followers on Instagram, you need to build a stunning Instagram feed. You need to focus on ways to get your photos noticed. And you need to engage with other Instagramers. In this tutorial you’ll discover how to get Instagram famous in three easy steps.

Instagram Famous

My @iPhonePS Instagram Account

How To Become Instagram Famous: Introduction

When I first signed up to Instagram, I struggled to get my first 30 followers. Even my best photos were getting only a few likes. And I wasn’t getting any feedback on my pictures.

That’s when I realized I needed to learn how to get popular on Instagram. And now I have over 128,000 followers.

Instagram Famous

From personal experience, I can tell you that Instagram gets a lot more fun when more people are following you!

Read on to find out how to get famous on Instagram… and gain more genuine followers who really appreciate your photography.

Step 1: Build A Stunning Instagram Feed

Knowing how to become famous on Instagram involves several key factors. But the most important is to make your Instagram profile look great. Nobody is going to follow a profile that has poor quality images.

If your goal is to showcase your photography, your photos must look amazing. It’s better to post nothing than to post a bad photo.

The first thing to do is upload about 15 – 20 of your best images. If you don’t have that many, keep working on it. Make sure you only post high quality eye-catching photos.

Instagram Famous

If you’re starting out on Instagram, it’s a good idea to improve your iPhone photography first. People only like to follow photographers with interesting photos.

To improve your photography, work on creating images with excellent composition. And learn how to use light to create more stunning and dramatic photos.

Instagram Famous

Learn how to use your camera’s settings. You might also consider using a more advanced iPhone camera app. Edit your Instagram photos with a photo editor app to ensure they look their best before sharing.

Taking time to improve your photography will more than pay off when you try to get Instagram famous.

Keep in mind that certain types of photos do particularly well on Instagram. In my experience beach photos, reflectionssilhouettes and sunsets get the most likes. Portrait photos are generally not as popular.

This sunset reflection photo got more likes than a lot of my other photos that I’ve posted on Instagram.

Instagram Famous

If you want to get popular on Instagram, post the kind of photos your followers want to see. This is why I often share beach and sunset photos.

If you want more followers on Instagram, it’s a good idea to post the kind of photos that get more likes.

If you share photos of you hanging out with friends, don’t expect people to start following you. These aren’t the kind of photos any serious photographer would want to share.

Never post text images or jokes, no matter how cool you think the text is. Also, avoid posting random screenshots as most people don’t like them.

Instagram Famous

Before you go to the next step, make sure your Instagram account is public. If your photos aren’t public, you’ll have a much harder time attracting new followers.

To make your Instagram feed public, go to your profile and tap the Settings icon near the top right of the screen. Go to Account Privacy and make sure the Private Account slider is off.

Finally, write a profile description that will motivate people to follow you. Describe yourself in a meaningful way to attract the right kind of followers. Don’t overcomplicate this step. Something like “iPhone landscape photographer and surfer” is all you need.

Instagram Famous

Step 2: Get Your Instagram Photos Noticed

Once you’ve uploaded some great photos, it’s time to attract everyone’s attention. Your aim is to get more Instagram followers, as well as more likes and comments on your photos.

In this section, you’ll learn how to get noticed on Instagram. There are several ways to get your photos noticed and gain more followers.

Instagram Famous

First, reach out to your existing friends and followers from other social networks. Since those people already know you, they’re more likely to become a follower. You can send a message or share a post inviting your friends to follow you.

To get your Instagram photos in front of more people, consider using hashtags. Adding hashtags when you post a photo means your image will show up in Instagram’s hashtag feeds.

Instagram Famous

To add a hashtag, use the caption box when you’re posting a photo. Type the hashtag symbol # followed by an appropriate word to describe your image.

Instagram Famous

Ensure you only add relevant hashtags to your photos. There’s no need to spam your posts with dozens of irrelevant hashtags. That will only make you look like a spammer.

Are you posting a sunset beach photo with silhouettes? Use the hashtags #beach, #silhouette, #sunset. If you’ve used a particular app to edit your photo, you could use the app name as your hashtag.

Instagram Famous

Another easy way to get your photos in front of other Instagramers is to follow a lot of people.

Find someone with photos like yours, and start following the followers of that person. They’ll get notified that you’re following them, and many will check out your profile.

Instagram Famous

But knowing how to become popular on Instagram involves more than just following people. You also need to interact with people that you follow. If you follow someone and don’t like or comment on any of their photos, you’re considered to be a ghost follower.

You’ll get better results if you comment on the photos of people you’re following. That way they’ll know you’re a real person.

Instagram Famous

You might find that following lots of people is impractical. If so, you can still get a lot of exposure by leaving meaningful comments on photos – even if you’re not following them.

If you leave a positive comment, the photographer may check out your profile. And if your profile is good, you’ll get a new follower.

Your comments are more likely to get noticed by people who don’t have lots of likes or followers. You’ll also have more chance of getting noticed if you comment on recent photos.

Instagram Famous

Leaving comments on the iPhone can be slow and tedious. So you might want to use a web service such as IconoSquare. This allows you to leave comments from your computer.

Ensure you only leave comments for people who have a high chance of becoming your followers.

So how do you find such people? It’s easy! All you need to do is use hashtags to search for people who do the same kind of photography as you. You can do this in the Tags section of Instagram’s search facility.

Instagram Famous

Are you a landscape photographer? Search for hashtags such as #landscapes, #landscapephotography or #mountains. People using these hashtags are more likely to enjoy your profile and follow you.

You can also browse through photos with a particular hashtag using IconoSquare.

Step 3: Engage With Your Instagram Followers

Everyone gets obsessed with the number of Instagram followers. But becoming Insta famous isn’t just about the number of followers you have.

Keeping your followers happy and engaged is important too. Your aim is to build a relationship with them and get the most out of your Instagram experience.

Post photos on a regular basis so people don’t forget who you are. I aim to share a photo every day on my @iPhonePS account. I’ve built a large and responsive community of people who look forward to seeing more photos from me.

Instagram Famous

But at the same time, you don’t want to post too often. Sharing lots of photos at once since will take up a lot of space in the feed of your followers.

If somebody doesn’t like one of your photos, the chances are they’ll still keep following you. But when you post three photos in a row, you’re more likely to lose a follower.

For this reason, I don’t recommend posting more than once every six hours. Remember that quality always beats quantity. It’s better to share only great photos, even if that means posting less often.

Instagram Famous

Make your photos more intriguing and valuable by adding captions. Ask a question, tell the story of how you came to take this picture, or add a useful tip that relates to the image.

And finally, be nice to your followers. Respond to their comments and questions. You’ll stand out if you say “Thanks” or answer their question.

Instagram Famous

Interacting with your followers is a great way to keep them happy and engaged. There’s nothing more rewarding than building lasting relationships with your Instagram followers.

There’s nothing more satisfying than holding beautiful prints of your iPhone photos, or even seeing them displayed as artwork on your wall! But how do you print iPhone photos from your phone? How big can they be printed? And what quality prints will you get? In this article you’ll discover all you need to know about printing iPhone photos – from small prints, to beautiful photo books, to large canvas wall hangings. You’ll also find out exactly how large you can print your photos, depending on which iPhone model you shoot with.

Print iPhone Photos

How Big Can You Print iPhone Photos?

The first question you probably ask when printing iPhone photos is: “How big can I print my pictures?”

This all depends on the quality that you want to achieve, e.g. excellent, good or fair quality. The table below shows the maximum sizes that you can print using these three different standards of quality.

Print iPhone Photos

As you can see, the higher quality the print, the smaller it needs to be. And the larger you print your photos, the poorer the image quality will become.

Why? Because a digital photo is made up of millions of tiny pixels (individual squares of color that make up the complete image).

Print iPhone Photos

As you increase the size of the print, you also increase the size of the pixels. When the pixels become too big, your picture will appear pixelated. Instead of a smooth and sharp image, it will look fuzzy because the blocky pixels are too large.

So the smaller you print your photo, the sharper, smoother and better quality it will look. The larger you print your photo, the more compromises you have to make in terms of image quality.

Print iPhone Photos

More Pixels Means Bigger Prints

The amount of pixels in your photo determines how big you can print at high quality. The more pixels your image contains, the bigger you’ll be able to print without it becoming pixelated and fuzzy.

In the table above there are two columns of print sizes, depending on the iPhone model that you’re using. This is because the pixel count of the newer iPhones is different from the older models.

Print iPhone Photos

The iPhone 4s, 5, 5s, 6 and 6 Plus all have an 8 megapixel camera, which means that your photo contains 8 million pixels.

The iPhone 6s and 6s Plus, the iPhone 7 and 7 Plus, the iPhone 8 and 8 Plus, and the iPhone X, XR, XS Max camera, and iPhone XS camera all have a 12 megapixel camera, which means your photo contains 12 million pixels.

An increase from 8 megapixels to 12 megapixels is huge – the image is 50% larger! So if you have a 6s, 6s Plus, 7 or 7 Plus you’ll be able to print iPhone photos much larger before you start to see the image quality degrade.

Print iPhone Photos

I print my photos on canvases, postcards, notecards, etc. and display or sell them in art shows, galleries, museums, fairs and boutiques.

Having a 12 megapixel iPhone camera allows me to print large, high quality prints that are perfect for displaying and selling.

What Quality Print Do You Need?

The type of print you’re creating will usually determine the quality that you’ll want to print at. There are two things to consider: How important is image quality? And at what distance will this photo be viewed from?

For example, if you’re a wedding photographer, quality is extremely important. Your clients will expect extremely high quality prints and these prints will usually be viewed at a close distance in a wedding album. Therefore, it’s advisable not to print them too big.

If you’re printing some family snapshots to hang on your wall or stick on your fridge, you might be prepared to accept a slightly lower level of quality so that you can get bigger prints. Also, these pictures will usually be viewed from a distance of a few feet, so you probably won’t notice any small quality issues.

Print iPhone Photos

If you want to print a really large photo (such as a canvas to hang on your wall like the one shown above) you’ll have to print at an even lower quality. However, this kind of picture is usually viewed from a distance, and the further away you’re standing from the picture, the less you’ll notice any issues with quality.

So while you always want the best quality print possible, a larger, lower quality print can actually look fine as long as you’re not viewing it close up.

Understanding PPI (Pixels Per Inch)

When you print a photo, it will be printed at a certain PPI (pixels per inch), e.g. 300 PPI, 200 PPI, 150 PPI, etc. You’ll often see these figures when printing your own photos or when sending your photos off to be printed. But what exactly does this mean for you?

The more pixels you pack into an inch of your print (a high PPI), the smaller the pixels will need to be to fit into that space. This results in a smaller overall print size, but it will be high quality because the pixels are small.

If you print with a very low PPI, the pixels need to be much larger to fill each inch of the photo. This results in a larger overall print size which will be poorer quality (remember, large pixels make the picture look fuzzy).

So the higher the PPI, the smaller the print will be, and the better quality it will appear. The lower the PPI, the larger the print will be, and the poorer quality it will appear.

Here’s a more detailed look at the information for maximum print sizes at different quality settings, including the PPI (pixels per inch) values that produce different quality prints.

So if you have a 12 megapixel iPhone and you want an excellent quality professional-looking print at 300 PPI, the biggest you can print your photo is 14.29 inches by 9.49 inches. But if you’re willing to print at 150 PPI, you’ll be able to have a much larger photo.

If you’re interested in how to calculate these sizes, you simply divide the image size by the PPI. So if your image is 4288 pixels wide, divide that by the PPI of 300, and you get 14.29 inches which is the width of your printed photo.

Now that you know how big you can print your pictures at different qualities, let’s explore some of the options you have for turning your iPhone photos into beautiful prints.

How To Print iPhone Photos At Home

If you mostly want to print your photos at fairly small sizes on photographic paper, investing in a decent home printer could be a good option.

Remember that in addition to paying for the printer itself, you’ll also need to purchase ink. Printing iPhone photos at home can end up costing more money per print than using a printing service, but it gives you more flexibility and the option to print whenever you want.

With so many printers on the market, it can be difficult to choose which one to buy. Getting a recommendation from a friend or professional photographer can be a good starting point, and always check reviews online before you buy.

For quality home printing, an inkjet printer is the way to go. Prices will range from about $80-$300. Most printers take a maximum paper size of A4, so if you want to print larger than this you’d need to spend more to get an A3 printer.

If you want to print directly from your iPhone (without having to go through your computer), you’ll need a wireless printer that has Apple AirPrint capability (a technology that allows your iPhone to communicate with the printer).

To print to an AirPrint printer, you simply open the image in the Photos app on your phone, tap the Share icon (square with arrow) at the bottom left of the screen, then tap the Print option.

If you like to print iPhone photos at home, consider the type of paper that you’re going to print on as it can make a huge difference. Printing on ordinary copy paper won’t result in good quality prints! High quality photo paper will produce much nicer looking photos.

There are different types of photo paper that have different finishes, and they come in different thicknesses too. If you want a high-sheen finish, choose a glossy paper. If you don’t want any sheen, go for a matte paper.

Bear in mind that glossy prints are more likely to show up any quality issues. Glossy paper is designed to show crystal-clear, vibrant, high contrast photos. Matte paper is more porous and can be a bit more forgiving.

Use A Portable Hand-Held Printer

If you want an instant way to print your iPhone photos on the go, you might want to consider purchasing a portable hand-held printer such as the Instax printer from Fujifilm.

This compact device allows you to print your photos wirelessly from your iPhone in under a minute. Essentially, it transforms your iPhone into an old-school polaroid camera, allowing you to print your photos instantly to share with others or keep for yourself.

Of course, not everyone wants to print their photos on the go like this, but if it’s something that appeals to you, the Instax printer is a pretty neat gadget.

However, it’s not cheap! You’re looking at anything over $150 for the printer, and the film has to be purchased separately. It’s a bit of a luxury gadget!

Order iPhone Prints Online

If you don’t want to print your photos at home, or you want to print your images in a non-standard format such as a photo book, calendar, canvas print, etc. you can use a printing service to do the job for you.

You could use a pick-up printing service at a nearby store, but you’ll probably find it more convenient to use a mail order service.

Whatever service you use, it’s always good to go with a personal recommendation or ask for a sample print so that you can be sure they offer a high quality product.

I’ve heard numerous professional photographers say that some shops and online printing services offer sub-standard prints. In particular, they’ve experienced problems with crops being changed and colors being dull or inaccurate.

There are many great choices for online printing services. The most convenient option is to use an iPhone photo printing app.

This allows you to easily upload your images from your iPhone’s photo library and order whatever type of prints you want.

Here are a few online print services that you could check out:

Social Print Studio is a lovely, home-grown company from California that’s really expanded in the past few years. They offer a wide range of print types, including square prints, magnets, photostrips, photo books, posters and framed prints.

Another great app is PostalPix which allows you to order photo prints from your iPhone’s photo library as well as your Instagram feed. They offer several print mediums including standard prints, aluminum prints, iPhone cases and mouse pads.

If you want to create beautiful photo books from your iPhone photos, Printastic is a great app that offers a high quality printing service.

Chatbooks is another photo book app that’s well known for its high level of customer service.

You can even subscribe to an ongoing book series where a new photo book is automatically created each time you add 60 photos to a particular photo source such as Instagram, Facebook, or the Favorites album in your iPhone’s photo library.

Companies like Snapfish and Shutterfly are popular print services that offer many different options for printing your photos. They both offer an app for your iPhone, but for complex creations you might find it easier to use their website on your computer rather than your iPhone.

When I use these companies, I tend to upload my photos to my laptop and then order from there. Once a year I order calendars for my entire family, which they all really love to receive. I’ve used these sites for personal print jobs, party invites and holiday cards.

I should mention that I did have to send my holiday cards back to Snapfish last year as the prints I received didn’t match up to their prior jobs. I since discovered that they outsource their holiday card orders. They gave me a full refund, and I have some beautiful birthday card invites from them.

One more thing to mention is that it’s always worth looking out for coupons on the internet that will give you a discount code for some of these print services. You can often find some great deals if you look around!

Use A Professional Print House

Professional photographers don’t use websites and apps like those mentioned above. They use professional print companies, such as White House Custom Color (WHCC), who can guarantee superior print quality.

Professional print companies work in the same manner as sites such as Snapfish and Shutterfly – you send them the images and they send you the prints. However, you usually have to apply to become a customer.

There are a few differences between professional print houses and businesses like Snapfish and Shutterfly. For example, many of their printing machines are different, but the main difference is that they work to ensure the colors in your images are accurate.

I spoke to WHCC, and they told me that when you first sign up you have to calibrate your color. You send them five images, they print the photos and return them to you so you can make sure your prints mirror what you see on your monitor.

Some professional photographers go as far as buying a calibration kit which helps ensure that the colors you see in the image on your monitor are exactly what you see when the image is printed.

Once your have your monitor calibrated, shops like WHCC leave the rest to you. When you send them an image, they don’t do anything to alter the color of your image.

These extra steps to ensure that the color of your photos is as accurate as possible is why many hobby photographers don’t use a professional print house. But if you’re planning to sell your photos as prints, this might be an option you want to consider.

Find A Print Company You Can Trust

When I had one of my iPhone photos in the Mobile Photography Exhibit at the Columbus Museum of Art, I wanted to find someone knowledgable and trustworthy to print all of my artwork.

I needed someone who could provide good advice and work with me to create the best possible prints. And that’s when I found Adam at a company called Artwork Avenue.

He asked me why I wasn’t selling more of my artwork, and I told him it was because my photos were shot using an iPhone, and according to professional standards I couldn’t print them very big.

He told me to erase those self-imposed boundaries from my mind. My photos could be printed… And they could be printed big! On canvas. On Wood. Even as a coffee table!

Since then, I’ve used Adam for much of my print work. I like Avenue Artwork because they actually look at each and every file that comes in. One time their designers darkened a few details in a photo of mine before they blew up the picture to a 40 x 40 inch canvas.

When I spoke to Adam recently, he told me, “At Avenue Artwork, we love working with iPhone images because it’s so cool to see the creativity that everyday people use their cameras for.”

If you’re looking to get your iPhone photos printed for display or selling purposes, I’d highly recommend that you find a print company that offers a service like Artwork Avenue.

Find someone who’s just as passionate about getting the best quality prints from your iPhone photos as possible. That way, you can concentrate on taking amazing iPhone photos, and you can leave the printing decisions to the experts!
